Happy National According to Hoyle Day!

In the 18th century, English writer Edmond Hoyle tutored members of high society at the game of Whist , eventually selling copies of his manuscript notes. Over the centuries, Hoyle has become synonymous with the established standardization of nearly every vintage game, including chess, backgammon, poker, and more. In celebration of Hoyle, we’re creating a space for exploring vintage games often lost to time.

This month we will start with teaching Whist, then moving through the shifting landscape of card games possibly including variations on poker, pitch, and modern classics.

What’s included:

• Guided play of Whist and other classic vintage games

• Dinner and snacks will be available

• A cozy, low-pressure environment

No need to bring anything! Just show up ready to play and enjoy.

What's Cozy Game Night?

It's an evening for board games and community! Typically taking place on the last Saturday of the month, the series is designed to be welcoming, relaxed, and just a little bit magical.
